SBTi Validation

We are thrilled to share a momentous achievement in our sustainability voyage.  At TF Value-Mart Sdn. Bhd,  our commitment to “Customer First” extends beyond exceptional service—it encompasses a dedication to environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved TF Value-Mart Sdn. Bhd.’s near-term science-based emissions reduction targets.   Our operational (scope 1 and 2) targets are consistent with the reductions required to keep global warming to 1.5°C, aligning with the ambitious goals set forth by the Paris Agreement.

Validation of our targets not only confirms our commitment to sustainability but also outlines our ambitious goals to mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.  Additionally, we are honoured to be one of the first companies in Malaysia to receive validation from the SBTi under the category of ‘Food and Staples Retailing’.

 

Our Commitments:

Reduction of Absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG Emissions: TF Value-Mart Sdn. Bhd. commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50.4% by 2032 from a 2021 base year.

Reduction of Absolute Scope 3 GHG Emissions: TF Value-Mart Sdn. Bhd also commits to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions 30.0% within the same timeframe.

Energy-Efficient Lighting and Equipment Maintenance: Transitioning to LED lighting and implementing stringent maintenance practices for store refrigeration equipment are integral parts of our sustainability strategy.  These efforts not only reduce energy consumption but also minimize emissions associated with equipment operation.

Employee Welfare and Community Engagement: By providing our employees with two days off and actively engaging with local communities, we foster a positive work environment and contribute to social sustainability.
